Our first One Local Summer "meal". We have had several salad dinners last week. And all of them local.. but this was our big meal friday nite and last nite and prolly tonite too!! (I made this before the heat wave hit us friday nite so we could eat it without wilting from the stove heat this weekend.)
Pot roast, pot roast veg, and braised greens.
Local stuff: meat, potatoes, and onions from our winter harvest share. Sage from my co-worker. Kale and collards from out CSA. Bacon fat was used to cook the greens was also rendered from bacon bought from our local bacon supplier.
Not quite exactly local: vodka I bought while on vacation in ME was local there.. I bought it b'c it was local and felt like it was an acceptible way to bring flavor without giving into using water.
not local: carrots I needed to use before they went bad in my fridge, salt, pepper, and a little oil to brown the meat.

That looks soooo goooood! And poor me had to skip breakfast because of evil content providers who like to ruin my morning . . .
