Well I have plenty of things to write about. I don't know what is holding me back.
But I can start with a wonderful event I went to yesterday at the Swedish Museum in Philadelphia. Elsebeth Lavold's Knitting along the Viking Trail.
That one is the centerpiece of the show. It has 3 elements of Viking design: a (complicated) cable, an appliqued animal, and the runes.
Elsebeth herself gave the talk yesterday with her husband Anders.
They were fantastic. She was so very interesting adn informative, and he was cute as a button. I would have loved to sit and have a cup of tea with them.
The museum is holding the exhibit until 7/3/11, so make sure you go!
She's doing classes at Loop tonight and tomorrow, and I'd LOVE to go, but I can't afford them (all unemployment benefits were cut by $100/month earlier this year, and that was pretty much my spending money). But the classes look like a LOT of fun. One of them is specifically about the runes, too.

Oh what fun! I'd love to see those knits in person.
/Wonder if the Man wants a trip to Philly?

She's teaching at The Tangled Web today, but I'm teaching a class downstairs at the same time! BOO HOO! Thanks for posting those pictures - they're amazing.
