Elusive Sue and I have a joke that started about a year ago. I said something that I knew she would say just before she said it. She was astonished and asked me how I knew what she would say. I said, "Nine. Long. Years." Since then it is a big joke between us.
When I knew our 10th anniversary was coming, I figured we should have some fun with it. We called it a Five and Dime Party, since we are together 10 years and married 5. Aluminum is the traditional gift for ten years together. So we asked everyone to wear tinfoil hats!* What a hoot! I loved how people got in the spirit of the party. And folks who didn't know** loved making hats with the tinfoil we had out. It was a party with a crafting element to it! We had plenty of great hats and even a Geordi LaForge eye visor.***
I should have taken more photos. But here is some snapshots from the day.
I should have taken more pictures!! And we had lovely cookies that looked like nickles and dimes from Whipped Bakeshop. We had a great time and Quincey was the hit of the party. Everyone wanted to watch him get fed like he was the floorshow entertainment. And he got thoroughly loved and held by numerous people.
So there we are, 10 (long) years of being together. I am a lucky lady. And now my house is littered with awesome aluminum hats everyone made. Like some drunken space alien convention.
* I admit, I shamelessly stole this off a friend who went to one several years ago.
** b'c I was terrible and forgot to tell everyone
